Protecting the forests of the quetzal to preserve the services they provide

Forests provide essential services: Their vegetation takes carbon out of the atmosphere mitigating climate change; their trees provide shade that refreshes the environment; the roots of their trees fix the soil and regulate the water cycle. Our work in Guatemala focuses on restoring the ecosystems that maintain the services that ensure water supply to the population.
