Haiti
Haiti is home to hard-working communities that have unwavering ties to the land and sea that provide food and livelihoods.
Having long struggled with natural resource depletion, this resilient country has made important strides in conservation and today protects over 20% of its marine environment. The Nature Conservancy works in Haiti to promote sustainable fishing, improve marine management, restore coastal habitat like mangroves and support alternative livelihoods that reduce fishing pressures and increase community well-being.
Our Work in Haiti
From mangroves to fisheries, The Nature Conservancy works to protect vital habitat that supports livelihoods and to build a brighter future for Haiti's next generation.
