Celebrating Trustee Leadership
Our latest updates from across the Caribbean.
TNC’s Caribbean Board of Trustees propels our work in the Caribbean in countless ways. This February, the Board celebrated several milestones and transitions. Alicia Miñana concluded her third term of Board service and a three-year term as Board Chair and will remain actively involved through a new Trustee Emeritus program. This new program enables past trustees to remain deeply engaged in TNC’s conservation work and provide additional support and leadership alongside the Board. Dean Hollis was elected to the role of Board Chair after serving as Vice-Chair for the past three years.
As founder of Diventures, the largest and fastest-growing network of swim and scuba centers in the U.S., Dean has deep affinity for the Caribbean and for the education and activation of divers and travelers in support of ocean stewardship. Frandelle Gerard, member since 2021, was elected to the role of Vice-Chair. As executive director of CHANT, Frandelle is actively engaged in promoting Crucian heritage and nature-based tourism in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Angella Rainford concluded a three-year Board term and will remain engaged in her Trustee Emeritus role as she continues to guide Soléco Energy and create a renewable energy future for the Caribbean.
The Board also welcomed a new member, Adriana Cisneros, who brings a deep commitment to sustainability and the Caribbean as CEO of Cisneros Group. The Board’s current and past members play a huge role in ensuring our success by sharing experience and insights, serving as ambassadors and champions, and bringing financial resources to the conservation mission.
Thank you, one and all!
