Hart Prairie Preserve
In Arizona, surround yourself with the awe-inspiring scenery of the American Southwest.
2025 departure is full.
September 15, 2025 - September 20, 2025
An Arizona mountain oasis, the 1870s homestead at Hart Prairie Preserve was gifted to The Nature Conservancy to protect the sensitive ecosystems of this high-elevation landscape. From your stay in a charming, rustic log cabin, explore the 245-acre preserve and the old-growth ponderosa pine, aspen groves, herds of elk and deer, porcupine, badgers, abundant bird species and meadows of wildflowers that call it home. Take in Hart Prairie’s enchanting grove of rare Bebb willows as you learn why this place is special and what TNC is doing to protect it. We will also venture off-site to kayak the Wild and Scenic Verde River and visit the unforgettable Grand Canyon National Park.
